C-Drama Review: Mr. Right (戀愛先生)

Mr. Right is another Chinese Drama, starring Jin Dong and Maggie Jiang which ended in 45 episodes about two months ago. I was watching it streaming thus I have finished this drama long ago. This drama filmed beautifully in Europe and also Shanghai.

So the story is about Cheng Hao (Jin Dong), a famous dentist who has another job as ‘modern-match maker’. He has many ways and tips teaching his clients on how to pursuit woman but he by himself never dating anyone before in his life encountered Luo Yue (Maggie Jiang) five stars hotel’s manager who worked overseas. Due to few misunderstood that happened between Cheng Hao and Luo Yue, two of them started off as nemesis. As time flies, slowly two of them developed kind of strange relationship from enemies to friends and then lovers.

Many things happened between Cheng Hao and Luo Yue, starting from Luo Yue who failed in her love relationship ( she strangely turned to be third wheel) when dating Song Yu Ning (Li Zong Han) who she met on plane when she came back to China after losing her job which she thought caused of Cheng Hao. At same time, Cheng Hao thought it might his responsible thus he helped Luo Yue to give lesson to Song Yu Ning by accompanying her to visit US, where Song Yu Ning residence.

To Cheng Hao surprised, by coincidental Song Yu Ning’s wife actually his first love, Gu Yao. So, at this point four of them have entangled into square-love, Song Yu Ning loves his wife but at same time love Luo Yue too, Cheng Hao has gradually growing kind of affection feeling of Luo Yue but hasn’t forgotten his first love, Gu Yao. This love story getting more complicating when Zhang Ming Yang (Li Nai Wen), Cheng Hao’s best friend and also the biggest shareholder in his dental clinic fall in love to Gu Yao.

Beside Cheng Hao-Luo Ye’s love story, to my surprise the supporting actor who played as Zou Bei Ye (Tian Yu) actually is the one who stolen the spotlight. A computer nerd and also CEO of IT company Zou Bei Ye suffers insomnia, taking part time job as online taxi driver, one day he met Qiao Yi Lin (Song Yan Fei), newbie model who often going home late at night. Zou Bei Ye fell in love with Qiao Yi Lin, wanted to see her more thus he set the APP so that he could pick her up whenever she call for online taxi. One time, two times might look as coincidence but after few times, Qiao Yi Lin suspected him as stalker because he just too often picking her up.

Got warning from Qiao Yi Lin, Zou Bei Ye decided to look for professional to help him pursuing Qiao Yi Lin, this is the beginning Cheng Hao met Zou Bei Ye.

As for me, this drama is alike fun watching with many beautiful scenery, quite light story but somewhat few of its scenes gave deep impression to me. It may slow, bit boring but weirdly addicting especially when it comes to Zou Bei Ye and Qiao Yi Lin’s story and also Cheng Hao and Luo Ye’s strange interaction.
