Review C-drama: Love Is Deep (浅情人不知)

Love Is Deep is another web drama that adapted from Novel with same title written by Shi Xiao Zha. Starring Hu Yun Hao and Kang Ning as the lead, this drama may give you a surprise.

So the story is about Zheng Ding Ding (Kang Ning) who gave up her dream to be plushie toys designer in order to help her boyfriend Chen Xun (Zhao Yi Xin) who just started up his business for few years. But one day, Zheng Ding Ding decided to break up from her boyfriend when she realized that Chen Xun hasn’t gotten over his Ex, Wen Zi Xin (Zhang Zi Xuan). Thing hasn’t over yet for Zheng Ding Ding another problem coming over her, she found a weird bumpy near her breast thus she checked her health to hospital and encountering Ning Wei Jin (Hu Yun Hao), her doctor.

During her hard time, Ning Wei Jin is staying beside her and also encourage her to pursue her dream. At the time when Ning Wei Jin confessed his love to Zheng Ding Ding, she refused him reasoning that she wanted to focus to her career and doesn’t want to date anyone in the time period.

But Ning Wei Jin is type of persistent and consistent person, he isn’t easily giving up thus finally Zheng Ding Ding unwittingly begins to reciprocate a mutual attraction. However, problems with their work and family get in the way to test the couple as they fight for their love.

Story plot:

This drama has very simple and yet sweet story plot which able to give you kind of ‘doki-doki’ feeling alike youngster. No such dog-blood* but too much dog-food** scenes LOLS.

*狗gou 血xue: melodramatic
** 狗gou 粮liang: sweet moment

Love is deep is type of sweet fluffy easy watching drama without many complexities which won’t cause any headache when watching it.

Actors and Actresses:

Having Hu Yun Hao played as Ning Wei Jin, the male lead. To be honest, I’m bit surprised because I have kind of ‘extraordinary’ impression about him when he played in Mystic Nine as Chen Pi, the bad guy. I did spot him playing as Luo Tian in Gank Your Heart and yet, I still like him as the bad guy in Mystic Nine.

Again another surprised, after watching Hu Yun Hao played as Ning Wei Jin, to be honest, I think he isn’t bad although I have my own version of Ning Wei Jin ^^

Perhaps Hu Yun Hao isn’t someone super handsome as male lead but his acting really not bad.

This is my first time watching Kang Ning as female lead. Her acting isn’t bad and I think she still has space to improve her acting.

To Sum Up:

• I like the sweet story plot without any complicated conflicts.
• The cast are doing well especially the antagonist female, Shu Yi Ran and also the story of Ning Wei Jin’s younger sister, Ning Wei Xuan and Gao Ren.
• I like the OST
• Zheng Ding Ding character is bit frustrated me because she easily giving up every time she faces problems just at the time when she breaks up with Chen Xun as well when she seeing Ning Wei Jin get closed with Shu Yi Ran. Zheng Ding Ding character looked so static for me, I don’t see Zheng Ding Ding character development from start to end.

Overall this drama still okay to watch if you are looking for something that won’t harm your brain thinking for complicated conflicts because this drama really simple to the point you don’t even bother to know more. From my point of view, the story plot of this drama is the strength as well the weakness and the casts just savior because their acting are okay.

The idea of the story plot is quite good and it has such big space for improvement and yet they didn’t execute it well in which make the climax turned to be flat.
