ManHua Review: Breed My Dear Enemy (养敌为患)

After many years, finally I started to do manhua (Chinese comic) and first impression again. In this post, I would like to share my review and two cents after I finished Breed My Dear Enemy (养敌为患). This manhua actually is adapted from novel with same title written by Feng Yu Zi Ran. As for the novel, I haven’t read it because to be honest, it is quite long. I picked the manhua because I really like the drawing ^^

Let’s start with the synopsis (Credit to shushengbar)

She was transmigrated into a novel where she became the cannon fodder who abused the male lead and ultimately suffered her demise under said male lead. And to return back home, she had to obtain the city boundary map first.

Ye Mu doesn’t want to play a game! Now that she’s inside the book with such a plot, the only way around her death is to kill the male lead first and let this world collapse!

However, upon seeing a scraggly, skinny little boy whose brows were full of perseverance, her hand won’t move…

Well then, she would subdue the male lead’s tyrannical tendencies! How to do it? Raise the male lead and have him help her find the city boundary map? That’s a good idea!

Despite raising him properly, the male lead seems to have grown into a devious man who won’t listen to her. Moreover, he lures her over with the city boundary map.

“Do you want this or not? Then come to my bed.”

Her face was full of tears. Where was the promised honest and upstanding monarch? Does she have to raise him all over again?

The man smiles and pats her on the head, “Come on, stop crying. Wash and go to bed.”

My Two Cents

Story plot
I really enjoyed the story since the first chapter. I found it has really light story plot with such perfect sweetness showed by the female lead Ye Mu and the male lead Mo Lin Yuan. It has good paced and I don’t need to read harem scheme in this manhua because from the beginning to the end Mo Lin Yuan only has eyes on Ye Mu.

The Drawing (Art)
Personally, I really like the drawing because it is so pleasant on my eyes. It is cute and draw well. No complaint 🙂

The Characters
I like the female lead character. I like her strong character. Ye Mu knows well how she positioned herself. She wouldn’t act reckless when facing strong opponent moreover during the critical moments she always knows what to do without being burden. She is reliable and therefore her character is really perfect match with Mo Lin Yuan. He doesn’t need to worry about Ye Mu and can focus himself to get his Jiang Shan (Land). There are also some other awesome characters but the Ye Mu and Mo Lin Yuan still the best characters I like the most ^^

To sum up, this manhua is worth to read especially for you who like the straightforward and well pace story plot. You won’t find ‘moron’ female lead that needs to be saved by male leads every times problem occurred, no harem scheming and from start to the end. Surprisingly, I have re-read this manhua and haven’t bored with it.
