Asmalibrasi is one of Indonesian song which quite famous lately. The title of the song is a combination words of Asmara (love) and Kalibrasi (Calibration) which actually I like to translate it as Love alignment. The lyric has very beautiful and deep meaning and of course it really super challenging when translating into English, FYI, Bahasa Indonesia is my native language.
In my perspective, as someone who has been learning Bahasa Indonesia 12 years (one of the must-be-learned subject in school), the level of the lyric isn’t a simple daily conversation Bahasa Indonesia words which common being used. It is diction, something used in poetry. Also in this lyric, you may read many loanword from sanskrit and also soft Javanese language.
I took sometimes to translate the lyric, checking almost all the Indonesian words in KBBI, trying to understand it in simple Bahasa words and then translating it into English. Thus, this translation isn’t word to word but more to interpretation translation.
